Vulcan dashboarding module allows Vulcan users, from managers to executives, to receive a coherent and elaborative view of the overall risk, tasks, and actions calculated and performed by the Vulcan platform.

Home dashboard

Vulcan’s platform Home Dashboard is divided into six sections:

Main KPI bar

  • The main KPI provides the user with the overall “Risk Score” of the organization, number of all critical, new and fixed vulnerabilities, automated actions performed by the platform and available fixes for the environment.

  • By clicking the underlined links, the user will be routed to the relevant section of the platform:

“See Vulns” the user will be routed to a filtered list of the critical vulnerabilities pending a remediation action in the vulnerability tab of the platform

“Create Playbook” the user will be routed to the playbook creation tab of the platform.

Vulnerability Instances and Risk Over Time

  • In the Vulnerability Instances and Risk table chart, you may see the number of Vulnerability instances discovered by the different vulnerability assessment tools integrated with the Vulcan Platform, and the overall organizational risk score over the period of one month.

  • Please note – there is no necessary correlation between the number of vulnerability instances and the overall organizational risk score, which is influenced by different attributes of the vulnerability instances, apart from their overall number.

  • The business group risk scoring and trend sessions present the risk score of every business group, as well as a deep dive into the risk score and trending of the highest-risk business group of the organization.

  • By clicking the underlined links, the user will be routed to the relevant section of the platform:

“1,277 vulnerable assets” link will route the user to the assets tab of the platform filtered to show only “Prod1” business group assets.

“165 unique vulnerabilities” link will route the user to the vulnerabilities tab of the platform filtered to show only “Prod1” vulnerabilities.

Each business group link under the “All Business Groups” section will route the user to the vulnerabilities tab of the platform filtered to show only relevant Business Group vulnerabilities.

Remediation and Actions tracking

  • The remediation and tracking pane of the dashboard chronologically tracks all actions, manual or automatic, that are being performed by the users and by the platform automated playbooks, to scan, notify, alert, remediate vulnerabilities.

  • Clicking the underlined links of each action will route the user to the specific vulnerability the action had been performed on.

Vulnerabilities Overview

  • The Vulnerability overview section presents a summary of the highest risk and the newest vulnerabilities found in the enterprise environment, alongside the number of hosts impacted by these vulnerabilities.

  • By clicking the underlined links, the user will be routed to the relevant section of the platform:

Clicking the link for each vulnerability will route the user to the specific vulnerability in the vulnerability tab of the platform.

Clicking the “See All” links will route the user to a filtered view of these vulnerabilities in the vulnerability tab of the platform.

 Boardroom Dashboard

Vulcan’s platform Boardroom Dashboard is divided into six sections:

The main KPI bar

  • The main KPI provides the user with the overall “Risk Score” of the organization, number of all assets managed by the platform, vuln/hosts, number of unscanned assets found in the different sources but not found in the vulnerability assessment scanners, and all critical vulnerabilities still pending remediation actions.

  • By clicking the underlined links, the user will be routed to the relevant section of the platform:

By clicking “See Assets” the user will be routed to a filtered list of the unscanned assets in the assets tab of the platform.

By clicking “See Vulns” the user will be routed to a filtered list of the critical vulnerabilities pending a remediation action in the vulnerability tab of the platform.

Risk Distribution in the Organization

This section breaks down the risk in the organization with 2 perspectives:

Firstly, the risk heatmap shows how the risk is distributed in the organization vertically, in terms of different technologies and cyber hygiene spaces, and horizontally, in terms of Business Groups.

It allows you to draw many different insights: Why does this Business Group have high infrastructure risk but low application risk? Why do all of my images, across the organization, carry high risk? And more.

Secondly, the risk scatter plot is our take in the famous Magic Quadrant – it plots all of your business Groups on a 2-dimensional grid, along with their relative size and amount of risk. The higher the Business Group is on the y-axis, the more technically complex it is, which may result in trickier, more time-consuming remediation. The more rightward the Business Group is on the x-axis, the higher its business impact, meaning a breach in one of its assets would cause greater damage to the organization.

Be wary of Business Groups in the top-right quadrant!

Vulnerability Instances and Risk Breakdown over time:

The Vulnerability Instanced and Risk table you may see the number of Vulnerability instances discovered by the different vulnerability assessment tools integrated with the Vulcan Platform, and the overall organizational risk score for one month.
The Risk Breakdown section elaborates on the number of assets under risk based on their Risk score.
Please note – there is no necessary correlation between the number of vulnerability instances and the overall organizational risk score, which is influenced by different attributes of the vulnerability instances, apart from their overall number.

Remediation Velocity and Remediation Throughput

This pair of KPIs are aimed at measuring how effective your organization is at remediating vulnerabilities:

Remediation Velocity measures what is the average pace at which vulnerabilities are remediated in your environment in terms of top percentiles, broken down by criticality level.

It also shows, per criticality level, how many SLA breaches had occurred and what is their median breach length.

Remediation Throughput is aimed at measuring the net remediation capacity of your organization – how much tactical remediation effort and risk reduction is being completed, regardless of ongoing new risk emergence.

These 2 KPIs combined provide you with insights into how well your current remediation capacity handles the ongoing changes in risk in your environment, and whether or not you are gaining a handle on the level of organizational risk or falling behind.

Top 10 Riskiest Assets

The top 10 riskiest assets section presents a summary of the highest risk assets, the business group associated with each asset, and the Vulcan Asset Risk Score. By clicking the underlined link in the asset name, the user will be routed to the asset overview in the Assets tab of the Vulcan Platform.
