Overview

Tags and business groups allow you to organize your assets based on rules that are applied dynamically. Each asset can have multiple tags associated with it.

Tags and Business groups

• Tags allow you smart filtering on views and can affect your org’s risk.

• Business groups are tags with advanced capabilities - they allow smart filtering on views, can affect your org’s risk and help focus the assets most important to you

Imported Tags

Vulcan automatically import tags from connectors you connected and apply them to the relevant assets. This saves you from having to re-tag thousands of assets. You can simply keep using the tags you’ve been using until now! Imported tags can and should be given an Impact score, but cannot be edited.

Tag management

The Tag Management pane displays all the created or imported tags and Business groups. The display/hide the Tag Management page click the "Business groups & Tags" title.

Add a tag

Tag dynamically updates any new / existing assets that match the rule filters. To add a new tag, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Add +" button.

  2. Give your tag a meaningful, unique name.

  3. Give your tag an Impact score – high, low, medium or leave it unassigned. This will allow Vulcan’s risk algorithm to rank vulnerabilities on assets with this tag with a business impact in mind.

  4. Optionally, check the “Use as Business Group” checkbox to also use this tag as a Business Group.

  5. Select the matching criteria and continue accordingly:

Match All or Match Any
