Bi-directional JIRA allow the user to stream action to both directions:

  1. From Vulcan into JIRA via tickets updates
  2. From JIRA to Vulcan by changing the vulnerability status in Vulcan based on the JIRA ticket status.

How to update vulnerability status from JIRA to Vulcan?

  1. First, we have to choose Vulnerable vulnerability to open JIRA ticket on. We can do so by manual action from the Vulnerability table or, by Automated action by playbook.
    *For this example we will use manual creation.
  2. After we've created the ticket for specific vulnerability, we will track the vulnerability on the Campaigns section to track the remediation progress.
    From this point, we have few option for vulnerability to move into "Fix" status:

How to update vulnerability status from JIRA to Vulcan?

  1. First, we have to choose Vulnerable vulnerability to open JIRA ticket on. We can do so by manual action from the Vulnerability table or, by Automated action by playbook.
    *For this example we will use manual creation.
  2. After creating the JIRA ticket, we will enter the ticket. the easiest way to reach the ticket will be from the remediation campaign that created automatically.
  3. On the ticket, we will change the ticket status from "To Do" to "Done". Once we made this change, the ticket status on Vulcan will change to "Done" accordingly.
